I was scrolling through Google in search of new ways to cooks eggs in the microwave for a quick breakfast. I stumbled across this article from the Food Network with instructions on how to bake, scramble and poach eggs in the microwave. The poached option seemed interesting to me so I had to give it a try. I was floored at how simple it was and how great they turned out!
How to make Perfectly Poached Eggs in the Microwave
Perfectly Poached Eggs in the Microwave
Ingredients
- 1 large egg
- 1/3 cup water
- spash white vinegar
- salt & pepper to taste
Directions
- Crack the egg into a ramekin (small bowl or mug will also work).
- Pour 1/3 cup water over the egg.
- Add a splash of white vinegar.
- Place ramekin into the microwave and cover with a microwave safe plate.
- Microwave for 30 seconds. Remove and check for doneness.
- Continue cooking in 10 second increments until you reach desired doneness.
- Remove egg from ramekin using a slotted spoon.
- Sprinkle salt & pepper to taste.
Note: You can make more than one at a time by using multiple ramekins.
